On March 29, 2023 the Governor signed a bill that extends the outdoor dining process for restaurants and municipalities and permits restaurants with liquor licenses to sell beer, wine, and mixed drinks with takeout and delivery food. Both provisions were extended to April 1, 2024.

The United States Supreme Court granted a request on March 27th by the MRA, the National Restaurant Association, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and others to hear an appeal of a Decision by the Court of Appeals in Boston affecting Massachusetts restaurants.
